Liz Hood – Passing

It was created in response to transience and uncertainty, but when I saw it again, it struck me that in the context of migration and human trafficking.

I have tried to show the vulnerability of those who are transient moving from home to home and possibly country to country. It is this vulnerability which so often produces conditions in which someone can be exploited and enslaved and reduced to the semi invisibility of the people in the foreground.

I would describe myself as a contemporary figurative artist, working primarily in oils and looking at everyday human experience, transience and memory.

My work is in private collections in Canada, China, mainland Europe, Ireland, the UK and the USA.

Price: £400; (105 x 80 cm oil on canvas, framed).
